YouthForesight: Collective knowledge that works for youth
Supporting evidence-based action on youth education, skilling, employment, entrepreneurship, and engagement.

YouthForesight is a one-stop shop providing curated tools, publications, databases and resources to support evidence-based action for supporting young people’s education and skilling, employment, entrepreneurship, and engagement.
Jointly hosted by the Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth (DJY) and GenU, YouthForesight expands the knowledge base of what works for the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs as well as policy issues surrounding key youth interventions including education and skilling, employment, entrepreneurship, and engagement. The platform curated over 1,000 resources contributed by over 70 partners.
To date, the platform has over 80,000 unique visitors engaging in a community of practitioners, policymakers, and young changemakers. YouthForesight also facilitated knowledge dissemination and peer-to-peer learning opportunities through webinar series and newsletters. In late 2021, an online community forum of the YouthForesight platform was piloted to establish a community of practice for and with young people.
By registering on the YouthForesight platform, you will have the opportunity to join an online community forum of stakeholders working on creating positive change for young people.
Why YouthForesight?
To scale up effective efforts, practitioners, policymakers, and young change-makers globally are looking for quality evidence and knowledge. However, the challenges faced by practitioners and policymakers include knowledge gaps, knowledge fragmentation, lack of user-friendly and action-oriented evidence products, among others. And even when evidence-based knowledge is available, its use and uptake remain low. The cross-cutting nature of the youth agenda - from learning to earning and empowerment - often causes silos and fragmentations of information.
Against this backdrop, the Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth (DJY) and Generation Unlimited (GenU) established a strategic partnership to launch the YouthForesight platform in 2021, building on DJY’s Knowledge Facility, as a one-stop shop with curated tools, publications, databases, and resources to leverage the collective experience of partners to support evidence-based action for youth.
