UNICEF’s Generation Unlimited Welcomes PwC's Mohamed Kande as Co-Chair of Global Leadership Council
Kande will play a pivotal role in mobilizing global collaboration to unlock solutions to the biggest challenges facing young people globally

NEW YORK, April 30 2025 – UNICEF’s public-private-youth partnership platform Generation Unlimited (GenU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mohamed Kande, Global Chairman of PwC, as Co-Chair of its Global Leadership Council. The Council—comprising a diverse group of global leaders from governments, business, foundations, multilateral organizations, civil society, and youth—convenes to advance global partnerships and unlock essential resources for tackling the most pressing challenges facing young people today.
As Co-Chair, Mr. Kande will work alongside fellow Council members to guide GenU’s strategic initiatives and build collaborations to help equip the world’s 1.8 billion young people with the skills and opportunities they need to drive entrepreneurship, create social impact, and secure meaningful employment.
The Global Leadership Council serves as an important convening platform where top global leaders unite to address the complex challenges facing youth today. By pooling expertise, influence, and resources, the Council drives collective action on key global issues, to enhance how well advocacy and resource mobilization translate into tangible opportunities for young people.
“I am honored to serve as Co-Chair of Generation Unlimited’s Global Leadership Council and contribute to its mission of empowering young people across the globe,” said Mohamed Kande. “As AI transforms the world of work, organizations that collaborate with young people will gain a competitive edge by unlocking a more innovative and inclusive workforce, while young people can benefit from greater opportunities and stronger economic security. What's more, AI can directly help youth by greatly expanding access to knowledge and making them more empowered.”
“I am pleased to welcome Mohamed Kande to the Global Leadership Council. His expertise and deep commitment to creating opportunities for youth will be invaluable. UNICEF looks forward to working together to transform some of the challenges facing children and youth today into future opportunities for young people worldwide,” said Catherine Russell, Executive Director of UNICEF, and Co-Chair of the GenU Global Leadership Council.
This appointment builds on the long-standing UNICEF–PwC collaboration, which has focused on youth skills and transforming education, skilling, and employment opportunities for young people. It reinforces a shared commitment to creating sustainable and inclusive livelihood pathways for young people.
