Who we are

A global public-private-youth partnership working to expand opportunities for the world’s 1.2 billion young people

Generation Unlimited (GenU) at UNICEF is a global public-private-youth partnership working to turn a generation at risk into a generation of opportunity.

Talent is universal. Opportunity is not. Too many young people lack the skills, opportunities and support systems needed to build sustainable livelihoods and participate fully in the economy.

Closing this gap has never been more urgent, especially as AI, the green transition and shifting labour markets transform the future of work and open new possibilities for young people to learn and earn.

GenU works to ensure every young person, regardless of circumstance, has a pathway from skilling to livelihoods.

By aligning public, private and youth partners around shared goals, mobilizing investment and embedding proven solutions into national systems, GenU helps connect young people to the opportunities they need to transition into work, entrepreneurship and lifelong learning.

Young people have the potential. GenU helps create the conditions for that potential to thrive.
