Youth Economic Opportunities (YEO) 2030 Program Manager, Making Cents International
Vicky is a lawyer, youth engagement, and green jobs specialist. Currently, Vicky serves as the Program Manager for Youth Economic Opportunities (YEO) 2030- a global initiative uniting young people and multi-stakeholders to accelerate SDG 8 on decent youth employment, at Making Cents International. She is also a youth advisor for the Green Jobs for Youth Pact governed by UNICEF, ILO, and UNEP and served as a member of Generation Unlimited’s young people’s action team. She has supported over 80 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Middle East to accelerate their efforts towards youth economic opportunities, girls’ education, green jobs, skills development and entrepreneurship. She has also served as the Youth Coordinator for Fairtrade Africa where she led programs and projects on women and youth empowerment, agri-preneurship and capacity strengthening for young smallholder farmers (including young farmers with disabilities) across 33 countries in Africa and Middle East.
She has also served as a youth engagement specialist with the UN Joint SDG Fund, Project Officer and SDGs Coordinator for United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN) Youth and Youth Liaison and Advocacy Officer for John Snow Inc. She has co-authored a book on environmental policy for policymakers with UNEP. She has been awarded the Top 35 under 35 Award by the Government of Kenya, the She Can Award and the Top 30 under 30 Africans Award.
