As a flagship platform of Generation Unlimited's Africa strategy, Yoma (Youth Agency Marketplace)is a digital platform built with and for young people. It bridges the gap between education and livelihoods by bringing learning, entrepreneurship, volunteering, and employment into a single digital marketplace.

Through free online programmes and a growing ecosystem of partners, Yoma helps young people develop market-relevant skills, build professional networks and create pathways to decent livelihoods.

Active across 12 countries, Yoma acts as an interoperable backbone that unifies partner ecosystems streamlining user journeys and tracking progress without duplicating existing digital solutions.

How YOMA works

Yoma is a digital platform that helps young people build skills, demonstrate what they can do, and access opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and impact. It offers:

Interoperable Digital Identity (YoID): Powered by YoID, a blockchain-verified digital identity layer, Yoma provides youth with a secure, immutable record of their verified skills, certifications, and community engagement to share directly with potential employers.
Skill-Building & Opportunity Matching: Young people access free online programs to master in-demand soft and technical skills, expand their professional networks, and get matched to jobs, internships, and entrepreneurial pathways.
Learn-to-Earn Rewards (Zlto): Users earn digital tokens (Zlto) for participating in learning modules and impact projects, which can be redeemed in the Yoma marketplace for essential goods and services like airtime and retail vouchers.
